Margot Pegum Scholarship For Girls

Margot Pegum Scholarship for Girls

Background

Margot Pegum was a hotelier, chef, wife, and mother who throughout her life, exuded many wonderful characteristics. Her ability to put people at ease was the foundation of her life’s work in hospitality, however Margot often lamented that with access to a better education, she could have achieved so much more.

The Scholarship

In understanding the adversity that Margot faced as a child and a young woman, at a time when educating boys was more of a priority than girls, The Margot Pegum Scholarship will provide support for full tuition together with a weekly allowance or boarding fees to enable young women and girls to realise their abilities and passions.

The Margot Pegum Scholarship for Girls aims to provide access to a world class education for a student whose family would not otherwise be in the position to invest in the individual’s potential.

The Margot Pegum Scholarship’s vision is to lift a promising young girl out of a challenging circumstance to provide the best possible start to life.Margot Pegum always backed potential, employing many girls and women throughout her life, and the Pegum family want Margot’s legacy to endure through this Scholarship.
